Racine Back Doctor Ib ThostrupDr. Thostrup obtained his degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1986. Upon graduation he completed a 6 month internship at Hobro Kiropraktiske Klinik, in his native country of Denmark.

After returning to the US he accepted a position as an associate doctor at Oskaloosa Chiropractic Clinic in Oskaloosa, IA. He later became clinic director at Kennedy Chiropractic Clinic, in Davenport, IA.
In 1989 he opened his own practice in Racine, WI, initially running a general practice of chiropractic. As his focus was always on helping the most complicated cases, he completed a three year post-graduate study in rehabilitation and a one year post-graduate study in spinal trauma.
In 1995 he introduced non-surgical spinal decompression in Wisconsin, receiving his training directly from the developer of Vertebral Axial Decompression, Dr. Alan Dyer, MD, PhD. Dr. Dyer is perhaps best known for his development of the heart defibrillator.

Dr. Thostrup’s unique approach to chronic and severe back problems has been featured in numerous newspaper articles locally in The Racine Journal times and nationally via the Associated Press.

He has been featured in the health segment on broadcast news locally on channels 4, 6, and 12, and nationally on the Fox network.

He continues to direct one of the longest continually operating non-surgical spinal decompression centers in the country.
